Is There a Market for Femdom Clips on ManyVids?

A changing market landscape is bringing more femdom and fetish clip buyers to ManyVids, start earning money today!

Manyvids Money

If you had asked me a couple months ago if there was a market for femdom clips on Manyvids, I would have said ‘not much’ but a lot can change in a short time. I originally made a ManyVids account years ago when I was still doing live webcamming and ManyVids was the new clip site with a sleek layout camgirls were flocking to. Even then my clips leaned more towards femdom and niche fetishes and I generally didn’t do all that well on ManyVids. I’d sell the odd clip here and there, often in fetishes that didn’t sell for me as well on other sites, and made just enough to keep me uploading but not enough for me to really focus on the site or put in much effort.

Part of my lack of sales on Manyvids was surely that it was more vanilla-focused, full of top cam girls and porn stars with masturbation and sex clips that aren’t really my focus, but part of my mediocre sales was my own fault for not taking the time to figure out what exactly an MV score is, how it works, and how I can use it to my advantage.

MV Heart
It’s more important than ever to diversify income streams

Changing strategy

In the past few months, IWantClips started getting later and later on payments, then cut clip seller commision from 70% to 60%, causing a lot of confusion, panic, and rumors that IWC might be on the way out. I don’t personally believe that last part to be true, but it was a wake-up call. It reminded a lot of people of the last days of Clipvia and YouKandy and for me it was a call-to-arms to protect my income. I’m lucky that the majority of my income has been from Niteflirt for several years now, but IWC was my second biggest income and the realization that a site as trusted as IWC could (even in theory) fall on hard times, I knew I needed to start making a greater effort to diversify my income streams so if something were to happen, not just to IWC but to Niteflirt or any single one of my revenue sources, I’d be able to get by without it.

Just days after IWC announced their pay cut, Manyvids (possibly seizing a market opportunity or just serendipity) announced their launch of MV Fetish, a page of their site dedicated to fetish and femdom content. MV Fetish is broken down into 3 main categories; Femdom, BDSM, and Kink. To expand on the launch of MV Fetish, they’ve also recently started allowing clip creators to make markup codes for their stores as well as created new MV top earner categories (which are awarded prizes) including; Femdom, Findom, Kink, and BDSM. And, as if all that wasn’t appealing enough, they announced 80% payout on clips and tips for the month of November!

November Madness on Manyvids

With so much push from ManyVids to bring in a wave of femdom clip sellers and submissive clip buyers, I knew it was the right time to buckle down and refocus my efforts on maximizing traffic to my MV store and capitalize on all that buzz.

What the f#@% is an MV Score?

Higher MV score means more visibility on ManyVids
You want a high score and a low rank to maximize visibility on Manyvids

I had a vague idea that every MV Star had an MV Score and that the MV score had some impact on visibility on the site, but I didn’t know exactly how MV score was calculated or HOW MUCH it affected that visibility. I did 2 searches, one on ManyVids itself which brought me to their FAQ section on the subject, and a Google search that brough me to this amazing article on Webcam Startup by Aerie SM which has a much more personal touch from someone with first-hand experience selling on MV.

What I found is that MV score is calculated by many different factors, some based on the consistency you upload things like clips and store items, some on raw sales numbers (with amount earned having greater weight than number of items sold), and some based on how much of your profile is filled out and how many different unique services you offer.

Strategy

The first and easiest part to tackle is making sure you have enough of your profile filled out and make sure you offer as many services as you can. For your profile and services, you want to make sure, at minimum you have:

  • 7+ gallery photos (not including your MV Crush photos)
  • An “about me” section
  • Linked twitter (this is great for so much more than just your MV score)
  • 10+ clips
  • 10+ store items (these can be anything from worn panties to zipped photo sets)
  • A membership (this is where customers can pay a monthly fee for access to some or all of your clips)
  • Services like buying Skype sessions, paid Snapchats, custom vids, a ‘fund me’ donation section, etc

Do all that and you should have 750 permanent points on your MV score. This next group of MV score boosters are things you should do regularly to boost your MV score and are recalculated every 45 days:

  • $ amount of sales (this is the most important factor in your MV score)
  • Maintaining a steady upload of clips, pics, and store items
  • Getting ♥hearts♥ on your profile and videos
  • Getting followers on ManyVids
  • Auto-tweets from a linked Twitter account (make sure you set up auto-tweets)
  • Getting reviews from members (and the video purchaser gets points of their own for leaving a review)
  • Your “overall site activity”

Points are awarded twice a day at 1pm and 1am Eastern Time, so don’t be surprised when you add something and don’t immediately see your points change, and since a lot of factors are recalculated every 45 days, it’s important to remember that your score will go down at times since things that happened 46 days ago are no longer a part of your score.

Manyvids Fetish
New categories were added to Manyvids shortly after the launch of MV Fetish

The higher your MV score is, the lower your rank on Manyvids and the lower your rank, the more visible you’ll be on the site. Taking control of my MV score and working to raise it has meant showing up higher in search queries on the site, leading to more traffic and more sales for me. With a little effort, I was able to roughly double my score from about 900 to over 1800 in a couple weeks and noticed the increase in sales immediately.

Manyvids revshare entry coming soon…

Interested in signing up to sell clips on Manyvids and cashing in on the 80% November payout capitalize on the MV Fetish buzz? Use my Manyvids revshare link (full disclosure, I get a small kick back) and I’ll do what I can to help you with your MV score. I was going to write about MV revshare in this article and what I’ll offer to people who sign up using my revshare link, but this article is getting pretty long, so I think I’ll just do a seperate entry on that later and hopefully remember to link to it here.

I’m also thinking of writing an article about which categories sell well for me on Manvids, since the types of videos that sell for me on Manyvids, Niteflirt, and IWantClips are very different. For example, my gas mask videos are among my best sellers on MV but don’t move at all on IWC and I can’t seem to sell popper clips on MV but they’re my best sellers on Niteflirt and IWC.

If there are any other aspects of Manyvids you would like more information on, leave a comment down below and maybe I’ll make another blog entry on that too! For more adult industry tips and tricks, check out The Ambercutie Forums and Stripperweb.

Happy hustling!
